NANAIMO — There doesn't seem to be any brakes on the Buccaneers' train.

The harbour city's Junior B hockey team registered its franchise-best tenth straight win by dismantling the Comox Valley Glacier Kings 6-0 Thursday night at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

Though Halloween House doesn't have as many scenes this year, it's still expected to scare the living daylights out thousands.

NANAIMO — For the first time in 10 years, trick-or-treaters can have the wits scared out of them at Nanaimo's famous Halloween House.

“We don't do cute,” co-creator Melanie Kirk said about the hellish nightmare she built with her husband at their house on Townsite Rd.

NANAIMO — It was a night Nanaimo Buccaneers forward Mathieu Jallabert won't forget for a long time.

He scored a franchise-record five goals as the Bucs manhandled the visiting Peninsula Panthers 7-1 at the Pirate Ship Thursday night.

NANAIMO — A longtime BC Liberal cabinet minister visited Nanaimo to explain his vision to refresh the beleaguered party.

Mike de Jong, who's been a Fraser Valley Liberal MLA since the mid-1990's, met with supporters at a downtown Nanaimo restaurant Friday.
