Nanaimo Timbermen sign three players including 2016 WLA Rookie of the Year

NANAIMO — The 2016 WLA Rookie of the Year is back with the Timbermen for the upcoming season.
 
Ryan Lee led the Tmen in scoring with 50 points and finished 10th in the league scoring derby.
 
Nanaimo coach Kaleb Toth called Lee an important piece of the puzzle.

Massive medal haul for Nanaimo's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu club

BURNABY — The instructor of Nanaimo's Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program at Island Top Team said it was an "unreal weekend."

Rob Biernacki was referring to the CBJJF Provincial Championship held at BCIT on Saturday.

Nanaimo Clippers recruiting season underway with 3 new additions

NANAIMO — Recruiting season is underway for the Clippers with three player additions in the past two weeks.
 
Last week Nanaimo added 18-year-old defenseman Jeremy Gervais from the Cariboo Cougars of the BC Major Midget League.

Nanaimo Rowing Club one of 32 in weather shortened Brentwood Regatta

MILL BAY — The 47th Annual Brentwood Regatta was supposed to be one of the biggest on the schedule for the Nanaimo Rowing Club, but it didn't turn out that way.

Rain and wind hampered the event which was supposed to run last Friday through Sunday.
