Nanaimo Clipper alumni Sheldon Rempal signs with LA Kings

NANAIMO — Good Friday was just that for the latest Clipper alumni to sign an NHL contract.
 
Sheldon Rempal signed a two year entry level deal with the Los Angeles Kings on Friday, opting to leave Clarkson University two years early to turn pro.

The Timbermen have bolstered their roster with a number of players with WLA experience.  That includes former Senior A captain Cayle Ratcliff and goaltender Pete Dubenski.

NANAIMO — The Senior B Timbermen lacrosse team has been hard at work building their team for the Presidents Cup national championship.

NANAIMO — The Canadian College Baseball Conference season gets underway this weekend at Serauxmen Stadium.
 
The VIU Mariners expect to field a strong team in 2018.
 
Last year VIU finished fifth with a 7-14 record.

NANAIMO — Some of the best 13 and 14-year-old players in the province have converged on Nanaimo for the annual Bantam Tier 1 Provincial Hockey Championship.

Buccaneers season over, Braves win game 7 to advance to VIJHL final

NANAIMO — It was heartbreak for the Buccaneers at the Pirate Ship.

The Saanich Braves beat Nanaimo 5-2 to win the seventh and decisive game of the VIJHL semifinal in front of a franchise record 610 fans at the Nanaimo Ice Centre Sunday night.
