NANAIMO — The VIU Mariners men's basketball team continues to roll under the guidance of head coach Matt Kuzminski.

VIU is 12-0 after sweeping Columbia Bible College over the weekend.

Buccaneers stun Storm with incredible 2-1 overtime win

NANAIMO — Elation for the Buccanneers (30-7-0-1), while it was heartbreak for the Storm.

The Bucs managed an unprecedented 2-1 overtime victory over visiting Campbell River (27-6-3-1) following two late short-handed goals Thursday night at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

NANAIMO — Two local athletes are part of Team BC for the 2018 Junior National Weightlifting Championships.
 
18-year-old Ayden Houle and 16-year-old Kendra Falkenberg will be heading to Halifax as part of the 11 member team from our province.

Nanaimo Buccaneers sink Kerry Park Islanders 7-3

NANAIMO — The Buccaneers (28-7-0-1) soundly defeated the Kerry Park Islanders 7-3 Thursday night at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

Billy Walters led the way with a goal and two assists, while Darian Harris added a pair of goals to headline a potent Bucs offense.

NANAIMO — A lacrosse superstar will join the Senior B Timbermen on their quest for a 2018 President's Cup.
 
Jeff Shattler will suit up for host team for a shot at a national title.

Nanaimo's Van Osch sisters win BC title, earn berth to Scotties Tournament of Hearts

NANAIMO - The Van Osch sisters are the top women's curling team in the province.
 
Kesa, Kalia, and Marika Van Osch along with teammate Amy Gibson from Victoria, beat Karla Thompson's Kamloops rink 11-4 in Sunday's BC Scotties Tournament of Hearts final.
