Strong showing for host VIU golf team at Morningstar tournament

PARKSVILLE — Vancouver Island University was the host for the second PACWEST Golf tournament of the season last weekend.

The Mariners men's team finished third in the team competition and VIU posted the top two scores among eligible team players.

Clippers score late power play goal to tie Wenatchee 3-3

CHILLIWACK - A late power play goal earned the Clippers a 3-3 tie with the Wenatchee Wild on Saturday afternoon. 

The point gained saw Nanaimo leave the BCHL Showcase with a share of first place in the Island Division standings.

NANAIMO — Saturday afternoon the Nanaimo Clippers wrapped up play at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack with a 3-3 tie against Wenatchee. The Clippers got goals from Parker Colley, Vincent Millette and Jake Harris who tied the game up in the last minute of regulation time.

Clippers Crozier brothers combine for OT winner against Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK - The Clippers are 4-1 after an exciting 3-2 overtime win over the Chiefs on Friday at the BCHL Showcase.  

It was a tooth and nail battle the entire night with both teams committed to a strong defensive game.

The Raiders fell 22-17 in Westshore on Saturday. This week they host the Valley Huskers Saturday at 1 p.m.

NANAIMO — The VI Raiders have emerged from the toughest part of their season in fourth place.
 
In the past three weeks VI has played the first place Okanagan Sun twice, and the second place Westshore Rebels.
