The Nanaimo Fiddle Society is excited to unveil the first annual Fiddle Festival which will happen between March 31 and April 2, 2017.

The weekend begins with Adjudicated Fiddle Sessions on March 31. Performers of all ages and ability will have a chance to perform for our adjudicators, Gordon Stobbe and J.J. Guy, who will offer performers personalized feedback to help each individual improve as a player.

This day-long event will be highly entertaining and informative, and equally enjoyable for performers and audience members. Everyone is welcome to come and watch the performances that day.

Admission is by donation. The afternoon session begins at 1:30 and will feature all the individual and twin fiddle performances.

The evening session begins at 6:30 and features the group performances. Christ Community Church, 2221 Bowen Road.

Saturday and Sunday will be filled with fiddle technique classes at the Fiddle Festival workshops. Registration for the workshops is now closed, but the Nanaimo Fiddle Society has other fiddle educations events coming up in the summer.

On Saturday, April 1, join us at 7:30pm for a fabulous Fiddle Festival Concert featuring Gordon Stobbe, J.J. Guy, Trish and Geoff Horrocks along with pianists Annie Avery and Grant Simpson and other special guests from Canada’s North. The concert happens at Christ Community Church, and tickets are $15 per person. Tickets are available online and at the door.
