Pick up a season pass or single ticket in advance here or at the door to enjoy Theatre One’s Fringe Flicks, at Avalon Cinemas in the Woodgrove Centre. Shows run at 1, 4 and 7 p.m. on Sunday and 7 p.m. on Monday.

Coming up:

  • (January 15/16) Captain Fantastic is a hilarious and heart-warming comedy-drama about Ben, a free-thinking father of six raising his kids in the woods of Washinton State.  When a family emergency forces them to leave their self-created paradise home and embark on a road trip across the country, Ben finds his unconventional ideas about parenting challenged by the real world.
  • (January 29/30) Operation Avalanche is a mock-doc comedy thriller about two CIA agents who find themselves enlisted in a massive hoax when they infiltrate NASA on the eve of the Apollo 11 moon launch. 
  • (February 19/20) The Eagle Huntress is a visually stunning documentary is about Aisholpan, a 13-year-old girl who becomes the first female in twelve generations of her Kazakh family to become an eagle hunter, and rises to the pinnacle of a tradition that has traditionally been handed down from father to son.
  • (March 12/13) Maliglutit is based on John Ford’s 1956 western “The Searchers” as inspiration for a very different kind of revenge story.
