QUALICUM BEACH — The RCMP's Emergency Response Team and a negotiator were called in Monday morning after a Qualicum Beach man refused to leave his home.

PARKSVILLE — Hundreds of people who dedicate their lives to helping others will soon have their moment in the spotlight.

Mayor Mark Lefebvre said he was thrilled to honour Parksville volunteers by declaring April 23 to April 29 Volunteer Week, as part of a national initiative.
