UPDATE: Missing Nanaimo man found safe

Apr 23, 2018 | 11:25 AM

NANAIMO — RCMP say Mathias Millette has been found safe.

EARLIER:

Police are asking for help finding a homeless man with significant medical issues.

Mathias Millette, 30, hasn’t been seen or heard from since Sunday, April 22.

“This disappearance is out of character for him, which has caused a lot of concern for his friends and family,” RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said.

Millette has significant medical conditions, which O’Brien said makes his disappearance all the more concerning.

He’s a known user of Nanaimo’s many homeless shelters and currently has no fixed address.

“We believe he may be on Vancouver Island,” O’Brien said. “There was a report, which hasn’t been confirmed, that he may be headed to Duncan.”

Millette goes by the nickname Stacks and also goes by the name Cody Mills.

He’s white, 5,8”, 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. O’Brien said he’s an easy man to spot given his teardrop tattoo on his left eye and the letters KC tattooed near his right eye.

If anyone has seen Millette or knows where he’s headed, they’re urged to call Nanaimo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
