Feb 27, 2018 | 1:30 PM

NANAIMO — Two young children and an adult were taken to hospital after a renegade ram busted through a fence on a rural property south of Nanaimo.

RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien said it happened at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday when the sheep barged out of a fenced Grandom Pl. property in South Wellington and knocked over the children. He said the youngsters and their daycare operator, who intervened to protect them, were all taken to Nanaimo Hospital with minor soreness and bruising.

“It took several people to get him back in the pen,” O’Brien said.  “The sheep is not considered a danger to the public, it appears to be a one-off situation and fortunately everybody’s fine.”

Crystal Hanson, owner of the 100-pound ram named Moses, was called at work by police and rushed home to help corral the animal.
