EARLIER:RCMP are asking for the public's help finding a Nanaimo woman whose disappearance is characterized as "totally out of character."

Nanaimo RCMP said Nicole Kristin Reedel, 30, was reported missing on Dec. 24, 2017. Normally very active on social media, Mounties said Reedel hasn't posted since Dec. 25.

Her disappearance is troubling to friends and family, the release said.

Police noted Reedel has some "personal issues." Court documents showed she missed a Jan. 9 court appearance on charges of theft under $5,000 for an alleged offence in Nanaimo on Nov. 10, 2017. A bench warrant was issued by the Judge, court files showed.

Reedel doesn't have a car or much money, police said.

She's described as white, 5'9" 165 lbs, with brown hair and eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
