NANAIMO — One of the city’s most recognizable curling families has returned from Kelowna after qualifying the BC Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

The Van Osch sisters picked up one of three qualifying spots by defeating Sarah Wark 9-5 in the C-Event final.

Kesa, Marika, and Kalia Van Osch along with Amy Gibson were representing the Nanaimo Curling Club.

They’ll play next at the Victoria Curling Club in the BC Scotties which runs from Jan 2-7.

The team skipped by Kesa Van Osch last won the BC Scotties in 2014 and went on to finish fifth in the national championship in the same year.

That event, also called the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, will next be held in Penticton from Jan 27 – Feb 4.

After winning the C-Event final on Sunday the @teamvanosch twitter account posted, ‘We took the longest long road but we punched our ticket to provincials!’
