R-C-M-P say a man has been handed a 15-year sentence after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of a 75-year old Port Alberni man.

Mervin Hankins was found dead in his home in January 2012.

Mounties say Channon Paul Coulter of Mission was arrested in February 2016.

Coulter pleaded guilty in Supreme Court in Nanaimo and was sentenced to 15 years, less time served, and given a lifetime firearms prohibition.
