Multiple Nanaimo RCMP officers converged on the Port-O-Call Inn & Suites, responding to a stabbing.

RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien confirmed a 55-year-old man was stabbed shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, allegedly by a 44-year-old woman after an “altercation.”

O’Brien said the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

Though she fled after the alleged stabbing, O’Brien said no description was needed.

“The female suspect has been identifed and she is known to us. She fled before we arrived, we’re currently looking for known locations for her to take her into custody. Based on the fact that the two parties know each other, we don’t believe there’s any risk to the public and we don’t need the public’s assistance in locating this female.”

O’Brien said police are confident they’ll be able to find and arrest their suspect.
