Clippers Crozier brothers combine for OT winner against Chilliwack

CHILLIWACK – The Clippers are 4-1 after an exciting 3-2 overtime win over the Chiefs on Friday at the BCHL Showcase.  

It was a tooth and nail battle the entire night with both teams committed to a strong defensive game.

The Chiefs opened the scoring when Corey Andonovski broke through the Clippers defence and rifled a shot by goalie Noah Featherstonhaugh Gowe mid way through the first.

The Clippers tied it late when a puck turned over to Jamie Collins ricocheted into the net.  Collins was given credit for the goal, but it may have actually bounced off of Parker Colley.

A pretty passing play but Nanaimo up 2-0 in the second period.

Tristan Crozier broke down the right wing and setup Jake Harris at the goal mouth on a Clippers power play.

The goal was Harris’s third of the season, all of them coming on the man advantage.

Chilliwack tied the game in the third period on a rebound goal by Harrison Blaisdell.

There was no scoring in four on four overtime but 56 seconds into three on three the Crozier brothers combined for the first time in the BCHL.

Max Crozier, playing in his first game as a Clipper, came down the left wing and threw a saucer pass to brother Tristan.

The elder Crozier bunted the puck out of mid air and in behind goalie Mathieu Caron for the win.

Both teams had four power plays and the Clippers had the only man advantage goal.

It was also their first perfect penalty kill game of the season.

Final shots were 35-32 for Chilliwack.
