NANAIMO — Crews from the Coastal Fire Centre have contained a small bush fire south of Nanaimo.

The BC Wildfire Service’s online map shows the blaze just west of Extension Rd.

The Coastal Fire Centre’s Donna MacPherson told NanaimoNewsNOW the fire grew to about 0.3-hectares in size on Sunday evening. She said it was human-caused and on private forest land.

Six firefighters and three helicopters from the CFC battled the fire, along with help from Nanaimo Fire Rescue.
