Cyclist injured in Nanaimo hit-and-run

NANAIMO — A hit-and-run in Nanaimo’s Harewood neighbourhood involving a cyclist is under police investigation.

RCMP said it happened at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Bruce Ave. and Seventh St. where the cyclist was hit and the woman driving a black SUV continued on Seventh St.

Police note the cyclist was not seriously hurt and admitted to not stopping at the stop sign.

RCMP Cst. Gary O’Brien reported the woman said “oh my god” before continuing on.
