One flown to hospital after Whiskey Creek crash

WHISKEY CREEK — Two people were hurt in a serious two-vehicle crash in Whiskey Creek.

Coombs-Hilliers Volunteer Fire Department chief Aaron Poirier said the wreck happened just before 10 a.m. Tuesday. He said it appeared to involve two vehicles going in opposite directions on Hwy. 4 at Chatsworth Rd.

He said one vehicle clipped another and then veered off the road and hit a tree.

“One patient removed herself from the vehicle with the assistance of bystanders and the other patient was extracated by fire crews and BC Ambulance Service.”

He said both patients were conscious as they were given initial medical treatment.

Poirier said one patient was flown to hospital, while the other was driven there by ambulance.

Traffic was temporarily shut down on Hwy. 4 as emergency crews treated the patients and cleared the scene.
