Big bang marks beginning of downtown museum season
NANAIMO — The sound of cannons firing will echo along Nanaimo’s waterfront for the next several months.
The Bastion, an iconic downtown exhibit run by Nanaimo Museum, officially opened for the year on Friday, May 19 with the ceremonial firing of the cannons.
Interpretation curator Aimee Greenaway said the cannons will now fire every day at noon until the Labour Day weekend.
