Wet spring leaves Nanaimo potholes unfixed

Apr 24, 2017 | 4:34 PM

NANAIMO — Drivers will have to dodge potholes on Nanaimo roads for a little longer.

David Myles, manager of roads and traffic with the City, said they haven’t had enough warm, dry days to get out and work on the roads.

“We know the potholes are there. We’re on top of them. As soon as we get some warm, dry weather we’re going to be out there working on them,” he said.

Given how fickle the weather can be, Myles said they don’t know precisely when crews will be back out filling and patching potholes. Having spoken to various meteorologists, he said May should be warm and dry enough for them to make up for lost time.
