Nanaimo RCMP hunting for smiling credit card fraud suspect

NANAIMO — Even though theft is no laughing matter, Nanaimo RCMP are hunting a man who allegedly stole with a smile on his face.

According to a release, they’re asking for the public’s help finding their suspect, who’s accused of stealing a credit card during a break and enter and then using the card around town.

The initial incident happened back on Wednesday, March 15 in the 600 block of Nicol St. RCMP said the credit card was used at various downtown stores.

They found surveillance footage showing the alleged criminal smiling while using the credit card in a store.

He’s described as white, between 30 and 35-years-old with short cropped hair.
