Magnitude 4.2 earthquake felt on Vancouver Island

NANAIMO — A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck northeast of Powell River, B.C. and was felt on Vancouver Island on Saturday morning.
No damage has been reported and a tsunami is not expected.
The quake hit around 6:40 a.m., according to Earthquakes Canada.
The agency says the tremor was felt in several areas on Vancouver Island including Port Alberni, Cumberland and the metro Victoria area.
