One person dead after crash in Errington

PARKSVILLE — A serious collision on the Alberni Highway in Errington on Tuesday morning has claimed one life, according to Oceanside RCMP.

Police say the crash reportedly involved a commercial dump truck and a small car on Hwy. 4-A at Errington Road.

The highway remains closed, however police note that detours are in place for traffic going in both directions.

Drive BC expects the highway will re-open at about 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

More details about the collision are expected from Oceanside Mounties on Wednesday.
