Notable drug bust involving heroin and cocaine in Parksville

PARKSVILLE — A major drug bust by Oceanside RCMP after a home near Ballenas Secondary School in Parksville was raided on Sunday, according to police.

Cpl. Jesse Foreman says a significant amount of heroin, cocaine and a pair of rifles, including one that was loaded, were seized from the home in the Ermineskin Avenue area. He says $2,000 cash was found in the home as well.

Foreman says a man, 59, was arrested and released on a promise to appear in court in Nanaimo in April. Foreman says another person was in the home at the time but was released immediately.

Cpl. Foreman credits the public for helping police in this investigation.

“We had been alerted by nearby residents in the subdivision that there was a lot of vehicle traffic coming and going making short stops,” said Foreman.
