NANAIMO — The BC Coroners Service has identified a man found dead in downtown Nanaimo earlier this week.

The Coroner says Jerry Patrick Jimmy, 27, died on Jan. 1.

Police say his body was found around 8 a.m. on Jan. 2. Witnesses report Jimmy’s body was found between two cars in the parking lot of the Budget Car and Truck Rental on Terminal Avenue.

Lyn Blenkinsop, acting regional coroner, tells NanaimoNewsNOW that their investigation is just getting started and they still don’t know how Jimmy died.
