PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A car crash has damaged one of the nation’s oldest churches.

WPRI-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2gA5Zsu) the First Baptist Church in Providence, Rhode Island, sustained damage to a set of outside steps that were a part of the original building.

Church officials posted on the church’s Facebook page that the accident happened Saturday morning and that the car didn’t enter the building.

The church is accepting donations to make the necessary repairs. Sunday services are expected to go on as planned this coming weekend.
