Delays likely at major Bowen Road intersection

NANAIMO — One of Nanaimo’s busiest intersections will see some major construction and possibly delays over the next four nights.

A “deep cut” needs to be made across Bowen Road, in front of the Beban Plaza, to allow for a sewer upgrade project, according to a city of Nanaimo release.

The work will be done overnight, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., from Dec. 6 to Dec. 9. The release states traffic patterns will be affected.

Another few days of overnight work will be done in the same area, near the Northfield Road intersection, from Dec. 12 to Dec. 15.

The city is asking people to watch out for crews and follow all directions and signs.
