NANAIMO — In the VIJHL, the Nanaimo Buccaneers are now back to the .500 mark on the season after a 5-4 win over the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Saturday night.

The Buccaneers are now 10-10 on the season and trail the Glacier Kings by 7 points for second place in the North Division. Meanwhile the Oceanside Generals have now lost three games in a row after a 2-1 loss to Campbell River.

The Generals and Buccaneers will meet for the third time this season next Saturday at Oceanside Place. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

In PACWEST action, both the men’s and women’s VIU basketball teams were in action against the Capilano Blues Saturday at home. The men lost 70-67 and the women fell 69-40.

On the volleyball court the men’s and women’s VIU teams dominated again at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford.

The men won in straight sets 25-22, 25-17, 25-23. The women also won in straight sets 25-16, 25-13, 25-16.
