NANAIMO — Police in Nanaimo are asking for help finding 29-year-old Derrick George.

Police say George was reported missing on Monday. They say his disappearance is out of character and his family and friends are very concerned.

George left his central Nanaimo home on Monday and since then has had no contact with his support network, according to police. Mounties say he doesn’t use social media, doesn’t drive and doesn’t have a cell phone.

George is First Nations, 6’2″, 300 pounds, with shaggy brown hair and has some facial hair.
