UPDATE: Missing Nanaimo man found safe, police say

NANAIMO — Police say Daniel Joseph has been found safe. No other details are being released.

EARLIER:

Police in Nanaimo are asking for help finding a man who walked away from a day program for adults with developmental disabilities.

Mounties say 63-year-old Daniel Joseph hasn’t been seen since he left Clay Tree Society on Old Victoria Road around 11:15 a.m. Thursday. Friends and family don’t know where Joseph is, according to police.

Clay Tree’s executive director Glenys Patmore says Joseph is a client. He takes heart medication and hasn’t had it in two days. Patmore says he may also be agitated.

He was last seen wearing a grey coat with a First Nations logo across the back. Joseph was also wearing a black baseball hat. Police say he’s 5’10, about 221 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
