Anti-Trump activists set sights on recruiting Americans living abroad

Oct 5, 2016 | 4:35 PM

VANCOUVER — An activist group’s campaign to deny Donald Trump the American presidency is spilling across the border as it ramps up efforts to recruit U.S. citizens living abroad.

More than a dozen people gathered in front of Trump Tower in Vancouver today to wave anti-Trump placards in a bid to convince American expatriates to register to vote and to defeat the Republican presidential candidate.

A man wearing a papier mache mask of Trump danced to 60s music on the bed of a pickup truck, prompting honks from passing vehicles.

The event was organized by Avaaz, a U.S.-based global activist group, which has launched a campaign to urge Americans living abroad to cast a ballot in this fall’s presidential election.
