No damage reported following earthquake in south Okanagan

OLIVER, B.C. — A 4.0 magnitude earthquake hit the South Okanagan on Saturday morning.

Earthquakes Canada says the tremour was centred about 40 kilometres south of Penticton, B.C., near the town of Oliver.

The centre of the earthquake was one kilometre below the surface.

The tremor hit at 9:16 a.m. and was lightly felt across the region from Bridesville in the east and as far north as Lake Country.
