Motorcyclist dies in crash on Highway 19 north of Lantzville

NANAIMO — RCMP confirm both northbound lanes are now open.

Earlier:

Friday afternoon traffic chaos on Highway 19.

RCMP say a male motorcyclist has died after losing control of his bike and driving off the right side of Highway 19, near Bayview Park Drive and Rumming Road.

Police say the accident was reported around 4:15 p.m.

One northbound lane is closed and police say it’s expected the other will remain open during their investigation.

Southbound traffic is reportedly unaffected.

Police say if the northbound lanes are closed, traffic will be re-routed at Lantzville Road.
