Aug 18, 2016 | 6:40 PM

KELOWNA, B.C. — A wildfire burning on the west side of Okanagan Lake near Kelowna, B.C, is now in the mop-up stage.

The Central Okanagan Regional District says an emergency operation centre has been closed after crews made excellent progress fighting the Cinnabar Creek wildfire.

The B.C. Wildfire Service has taken control and over the next few days firefighters will be working to completely extinguish the nearly three hectare blaze.

A crew from the Wilson’s Landing fire department will monitor the blaze overnight Thursday to put out any hotspots.
