UPDATE: Woman identified in fatal Sooke Potholes Regional Park incident

SOOKE — The victim of a fatal fall at the Sooke Potholes Regional Park as been identified as 28 year old Alysha Buzzeo .

Buzzeo was with her spouse at the park on Saturday night when she lost her footing near a ledge and fell 12 metres on to the rocks below.

The investigation by the BC Coroners Service is continuing. 

EARLIER:

A woman has died after a fatal fall at the Sooke Potholes Regional Park on Saturday.
 
The fall happened around 8pm, with Sooke Fire Rescue saying they received a call about the incident around 8:20pm.
 
More details will be announced later, but officials are describing the incident as a ‘long fall’.
 
The victim died at the scene.
 
The investigation into the cause of the fall is in the hands of the BC Coroners Service.
