Stolen puppy returned to Nanaimo home

NANAIMO — Molly the puppy is back where she belongs.

The six-month-old pup was stolen while she was tied up outside of Port Place Mall on July 10.

Police say the city of Nanaimo called Molly’s owner last week to let her know the dog had been found in Parksville.

A woman, who wants to remain anonymous, says Molly wandered into her backyard about two weeks ago.

She looked a bit thin and thirsty, but didn’t appear to have been mistreated, according to police.

Police say it’s a good reminder of the importance of having your pet registered and licensed, because in this case it’s unlikely the woman in Parksville ever would have found Molly’s owner.
