Selfie snap gives RCMP Easy Suspect in Purse Theft
Snapping a selfie may be the undoing of a less-than-brilliant Nanaimo thief.
Nanaimo RCMP say a woman had her purse, containing her phone, stolen on July 5.
She put her purse down beside her car on Kennedy Street and then went to a nearby garbage bin to throw out a bag. Police report the woman saw a man walking near her car, and when she went back the man and her purse were gone.
The next day she got a new phone and when activated, it automatically uploaded her pictures from her old phone.
