Gas prices expected to be stable on the Mid Island

Jun 3, 2016 | 12:52 PM

Some gas pumps in Kelowna were bone dry this morning, and there are concerns about a fuel shortage in parts of BC and Alberta.

Dan McTeague with gasbuddy.com says drivers in the central Island shouldn’t worry about any shortage here.

“Most of your gasoline comes from one of the three refineries in Washington State, in Ferndale, in Anacortes, or in Cherry Point,” said McTeague. If there’s a disruption in crude through the Trans Mountain Pipeline or other means, that could have an affect.  But right now things appear to be stable.”

Gas is going for about 113.9 locally and he says it should range between 105 and 121 through the summer months according to McTeague.
